This process achieves a low carbon footprint and represents a truly sustainable approach to infrastructure renewal. Originally developed in 2005 for use in Southeast Asia, ecoProactive™ was introduced to the UK and European markets in partnership with Mackenzie Construction Ltd in 2019, under their Smart Surface™ service.
During this time, ecoProactive™ achieved full environmental credentials in line with UK and EU standards, marking a major milestone in sustainable construction innovation.

The European blend of ecoProactive™ incorporates a subtle yet critical modification designed to combat frost-related damage. By preventing both the ingress and egress of moisture, the material effectively eliminates the primary cause of frost heave: trapped water.
The system’s low capillary absorption ensures that water cannot penetrate during thawing cycles, preserving the pavement’s structural integrity. Additionally, its low thermal conductivity moderates heat absorption throughout the day, reducing temperature variations and minimizing thermal stress on the pavement layer.
